Excellent report from Deutsche Welle news service. Finally, the U.S. recognizes the evil government of Myanmar's campaign of genocide against the Muslim Rohingya.
This genocide has gone largely ignored, especially in the U.S. and the West. Let us hope this step will increase the pressure on Myanmar to halt their atrocities.
However, our work is not finished. For years I have been writing letters to U.S. government officials requesting they take this step. We must continue to lobby on behalf of the Rohingya and we must also maintain our work in providing humanitarian NGOs working in the region with the resources needed to help feed and shelter this dispossessed population. Progress is finally starting we can't give up our efforts now.
